I left for Brazil in jan 07 and came back Jul 07, does the UK gov know I've been away for six months even though theres only an entrance stamp (Jul 07) in my passport?

And is this information public through the Freedom of Information Act?

  1. Stamps don't matter.  They know from passenger manifests.

  2. The Immigration Office has a computer data base of all those who entered and left UK.  Thus, even if there is no stamp on your passport, they know your whereabouts.

  3. there is not need for a stamped entry to keep track of you ;

    remember the entry and exit fees?

    and what passport do you possess ?electronic? or biometric ?

    When traveling by air, there is a departure tax and arrival as well .

    and since you did not need a visa for Brazil ,of course there no visa stamped to your passport :-)

    since you do have an entry stamp on your passport ? yes they will know? but the question is: will they want to know ? and why? hum? there are also tracts of airlines tickets ...........

    if they wanted to know ? yes they could and can ;

    your travels are NOT for public information that is for sure ;

    only certain agencies are allowed to know this ,all gov agencies for sure .

    you have any more questions about this ?

    or do you want to say why you are asking this question ?

    i am not being nosy , just  try to find the correct answer .

    PS:

    i know it takes time for the medical exam etc., but if i were you ? i would not lie, it is best to go the right way ;

    you may get caught and by lying and forfeit your chance for a job ,and never be able to apply again ? ...........

    think seriously......before doing something you may regret.

    just tell them .

    i cannot advice you to say otherwise.

    re PS :

    but you have not been away  # more  # than 6 months? :-)

    jan 07 and came back Jul 07,

    6 months exactly and not one day more ? right? right......................................

    so NO you have NOT been away more than 6 months :-)
