  1. What are you nuts?  Everyone needs a Visa and a Passport to Visit the U.S.  The U.S. is one of the hardest countries to visit right now.

A UK citizen can purchase a Visa at the point of entry...about 10$ US and at which time they are required to finger print and retina scan...the Visa will last for an indefinite time usually the time of the vacation...a declaration of money can be required of anyone entering the US...even Canadians

  3. UK citizens are, for the most part, entitled to travel to the US under the Visa Waiver Program - they do not require a visa.  See the following site for more information:

    As for your finances, you should be able to demonstrate that you have the resources available to cover your expenses in the US without working.
