There is a show on Discovery Channel called Myth Busters and they actually tested that, but I don't remember what they said it was a while ago. I am sure you could look it up on their website though.

different musics can affect a plants growth.  certain plants at least...

so does talking to plants in a loving and gentle voice.... pretty freaking!  but it's true.
