  1. Yes they do.

  2. The one I went on did :)

  3. Yes they have, for laptops and phone chargers.

  4. Good answer efes_haze, but he was asking for a PLUF socket to be able to plug his laptop into.

Must be something new that Virginwestcoast are experimenting with.

  5. It depends on the train in use on the day - but probably yes!  The older trains don't have but they don't use them very often...

  6. Yes, the newer pendos have plug sockets.

    The older HST's do not.

  7. Virgin West Coast operates two types of train: Pendolinos and Voyagers. The Voyagers are used on London to Holyhead services, the Pendolinos on all other services (including some Holyhead services). Both types of train have sockets in both first and standard class into which you can plug your laptop.

These trains were designed with this feature in mind and have the correct voltage for laptop use, unlike some other trains, such as HST's which have a three pin socket behind the luggage rack

which is for maintenance purposes and certainly not for customer use, as the voltage can be up to 1,000v.

  8. The term is socket.

There is no need to say plug socket, as a specific socket will only take it's corresponding plug, nothing else.  It is it's reason to be.  You don't say socket plug do you?

It always baffles me why some people say plug socket.
