Does the warrant of complaint issued by the court can be stop by any lawyer for serving?

the lawyer is asking for certain amount in order for him to hold the warrant of complaint to be served? is that possible? ( credit card Concern )

.   He is worried that you will never pay him once the warrant is served.  That is when you will disappear and he won't get paid.  Give him an IOU and tell him to get to work.
