  1. yes

  2. Yea when i went to Kenya with school we stood on the equator and they pored water into a tub with a small hole, on one side it span one way, a few meters across the equator it span the other. And directly on the equator it when straight down.

  3. You got is sort of wrong.

On the southern hemisphere below the equator it swirls the other way.

  4. Only if you have a huge volume of water...toilets and sinks spin both ways north & south of the equator

EDIT..gr8 Simpsons episode but Lisa got it right(as usual) as it spins both ways..honest!

  5. No.  The Corolis force is very weak, and needs 100's of kilometers to build up to any decent level.  Over a distance of 1 meter, for example, the Corolis force would be less than the effect of a breath of air from a person standing next to the water.

  6. yep , there was a simpsons episode about it . gotta be true

  7. No

  8. that is exactly what i was gonna sAY!

  9. yes it does. i can't be bothered to explain this scientific fact but it involves the earths pull by hte axis points ie NORTH POLE SOUTH POLE!
