Does the whole world ignore Canada?

I don't think it is just the US that ignores Canada, the whole world does.

Nobody know much about Canada, it is not just the US or Americans who are ignorant as many Canadians like to accuse us of.

Canadians like to complain that Americans don't know anything about the world actually we do, we know about a lot of other cultures just not Canada because we can't be bothered to find out.

So stop painting Americans as idiots Canadians. Ask people around the world, they also do not know anything about Canada. Everybody ignores Canada.

My point is that nobody cares about Canada is not just Americans who don't care about Canada.

Lol none of my friends complain about america. Its actually kind of funny talking to people from the states when Im down there and they actually think canada is fully covered in snow. Or when Americans get off an airplane in the hottest days of summer covered in thick layers of winter clothing.

But anyway the whole world looks at Canada better then the states. I know quite a few Europeans that smack talk America and when I visited London and germany they asked if I was Canadian or American. They always say something like "oh thank god you're not a yank" or other various lines.

And by the way, Saying "everyone ignores Canada" just proves that you are ignorant.

It seems your problem is with America not the world, in the UK we don't ignore the rest of the world the way America does. America thinks it IS the world. Imagine how you'd feel if you were from Finland or somewhere far less noticed or talked about. You have no knowledge about what the rest of the world "thinks" and can't speak on their behalf. Canada is a well known and well popularised country in the great scheme of things, it's not a big political contender on the world stage which is why it doesn't feature as much in the news like the USA or UK does. Just calm down and do some travelling so you've got some actual experience of the world before you mouth off about stuff.

I think we are more surprised that our neighbours to the south don't know much about Canada because you they are right there next to us.  Maybe it is better that the world ignores us less trouble for us that I'd say!

Oh and just a side note most people who visit Canada love it so we have something going for us.

As far as GB is concerned, Canada is fairly important. They were great allies during WW2 (They, along with the Poles formed a large part of the D Day forces. Not just you Americans who'd like to think you did it on your own). Our Queen is head of state for Canada and they are part of the commonwealth.

France also has a vested interest in Canada.

I don't ignore Canada. I know about Canada, the capital is Ottawa and they speak both English and French there quite a lot. I'd rather go to Canada than America, I know lots of Canadian people and my mum went to Canada last year. I'm from Australia.

You are being all pissy. Who cares? what's the point of this question? How old are you? Your question is riddled with contradictions. The reason why I don't give a sh*t about Canada is because the contrast between Canada and the USA isn't big. Maybe big in your view or their view... but id rather learn about more interesting cultures, not variations of the same culture that everyone sees on tv?

Why pick on Canada? there are soooo many countries which are ignored culturally and in other ways too. I'm South African and I moved to the UK and people actually thought no white people lived there, and asked if my parents were black... now that's ignoring a country... THAT'S cultural ignorance.

I totally disagree, the US because of it's close proximity cares and trades a lot with Canada, Britain and France because of their historical ties care, and if you look at Canada's recent immigration figures then you will see that hundreds of thousands of people from around the globe have cared enough to want to resettle and live there ! The name calling between the US and Canada is mostly good natured fun, similar to what happens between Britain and France.
