Does the wii play gamecube games ?

yes  it does just plug the gamecube controller into the to slots on the wii

Yes, the Wii is a Gamecube in a different shaped box, so the Gamecube games run perfectly as they are not emulated because they run natively. For the best experience use a Wavebird Gamecube controller, they are wireless and the most up to date official Nintendo controllers so have better joysticks and responses etc.

Do NOT use 3rd party controllers from awful companies such as Madcatz or Logitech, they are always poorly constructed and hard to use and so hamper your gaming experience.

Of course it does!

Just plug in the Gamecube controller into the top of the Wii. (You can also insert a memory card.) Next, insert the Gamecube disc as if it were a Wii disc. Then go to the disc channel on the Wii and...Presto. You are playing Gamecube on your Wii!!!

Note: This is NOT a hack, the Wii was made to play gamecube games as well as Wii games.

yeah, the disk goes in the same spot as the wii disk. But you need a game cube controller and a game cube memory card, which are both very hard to find unless you buy them used.

but I prefer playing my game cube games on my game cube, because then the controler doesnt stick out from the top and the memory card doesnt either, it just looks cooler on the game cube than the wii

duh.when u go to a store and look for gamecube games there is a logo on them that says 'plays on wii' and what do u think theres a controller slot in the top for?
