Does the world only have a few great thinkers capable of thinking out of the box?

It seems like only a handful of people are the ones that make all the great discoveries in the world that we all benifit from. But everyone else are just, users, yes men, or nay sayers. Why aren't there more people like Tesla that are capable of thinking outside the box? Where have all the great thinkers gone? Why don't we promote our best thinkers? Why do people that take credit for other people's work get promoted over the people that have the great ideas?

  1. Not of this world!  For the Lord is my thinker!  He richly blesses us with 'gifts'.  How we 'chose' to use them is our choice.  When we chose to use them for the glory of God, He will enhance them, accordingly.

  2. There are lots of people capable of thinking out of the box, but the large majority of them are fruitcakes offering nothing worthwhile whatsoever.

<<Why do people that take credit for other people's work get promoted over the people that have the great ideas?>>

Careerists are good at making careers.  There's nothing new about that.

  3. Only a few that aren't afraid too.  If your not stupid, anyone can think outside the box.  A little courage, and some commonsense.  That's all it takes.  And the willpower.

  4. There are 3 types of people that we can compare to pencils.

Some have lead with a point to write.

Some have no lead or point and can not write.

The rest only have erasers so they can do nothing except erase good aspects.

  5. Yes. If you conform to what is the standard then you can't have original thought which leads to original ideas.

  6. you just figured out the GRWEAT country of America

    ( SUX doesn't it )

I try to think out of the box and Take risks and chances when I can

  7. The Great thinkers come in fits and starts, the last 30 years has seen a very high level of expansion in the world and a more collaborative effort by part of society to innovate in a more iterative process than 'great leaps forward' there are fewer hero's in this process. Our economic system has also not always promoted new thinkers, most of the "Economic value" in todays system is not spent on R&D or education. If large portions of the population demand watching celebrities get drunk or vote for people singing versus seeking knowledge then the market will supply to peoples wants. The role of Science in history has normally been supported by the wealthy who will invest in the long process to create the 'new'. Tesla was a great thinker with horrible business sense, he ripped up the most valuable business contract on earth, like most great thinkers they are not able to support the the burden of administrative nonsense that comes with living in modern society.

  8. People have their own constrictions and they are also biase. Is that how you spell? So they only promote the people they like or know. Yes! it is an advantage if you know the pertson who promotes us but don't you think that working happily is beetter than caring about who is promoting who? I suppose all the great thinkers were CARRIED AWAY by other better things in life and forgot to think. Don't worry, they will son realise that thinking is even better.

    Bunnie Bones

  9. No they are just captives of fear. God made Robots.

  10. No, i did not agree with your statement

there are many people out there who are capable of thinking out of the box, but the crowd laugh and demoralise such people so very soon they loose their self confidence and start thinking in the box, the people keep thinking out of the box ignoring what the crowd think those people very less gets a identity of their own after the whole world

The fact is that we and our education system does not promote thinking out of the box, some teachers who promote this and thier student gets a unique identity

Thinking out of the box needs our mind concentration, when one start thinking that "what other people think about him" he loose the capability of thinking out of the box.

    Hope it Helps!!!

  11. hi there. i kinda agree with ya. theres probably more than a few lol, but it seems like as a society we promote openmindedness, yet we are so prejudice and judgemental against so many things. we're like hypocrites !! we all have this human nature to want to all be the same and conform to be popular (esp. in the U.S.) this is what i think. there were so many other people long time ago who where great thinkers. it seems now there arent that many or maybe they dont get the spotlight they deserve

    :]

  12. there are more but they just aren't in the spot light

  13. Yes, I'm afraid there are few free thinkers like me left in the world, and I really need your help in promoting my new idea for getting milk out of a carton without tipping it.

Since you're on my side I can give you a clue that involves drilling a hole in the bottom and a tiny spigot.

Now, since I've taken you into my circle of trust, you must keep those nuts from cramming me back into that box.

I must get back to my work on the unique idea of styling a woman's hair with an egg-beater.

  14. Yes very few!!

  15. vivianna, Hon, I am sure that like myself there are many great thinkers out there who are much smarter than I will ever be. But none of us will ever have our thoughts heard ! In the begining St. Lucifer was banished to Earth from heaven. So he has influenced the greed driven power brokers to hold those of us who are good back so our ideas never take root !Being a humble man I of course would use the inspired ideas to glorify the giver. Almighty God

  16. Viv,

Lots of Q's but I will take a shot:

Most breakthroughs are indeed made by the few but almost always using the work and efforts of several others.

Newton didn't invent the math for his work; he read the work of others and developed formulae for important calculations. His math on orbits is still used even though if one need absolutely accurate results, Einstein must be used (it's much harder to use).

All too often, We The People give credit for ideas to a single individual and ignore all those who contributed to the development of the idea,

Just how much mental capacity the average person has is not known, I imagine we are all capable of much more than we achieve.

Major scientific developments are usually a tandem event but those special few are responsible for all the human breakthroughs we all lay claim to yet know so little about.
