Nope, any TV is fine. Just make sure the video cables are switched to "CRT" instead of "HD" if you don't have an HD television. It comes standard with the two options though. Some people complain that the graphics are sub-par without taking advantage of a good high definition television, but I've used all kinds of TVs and while the high definition is nice, regular TV's can still put a pretty image on the screen.
