  1. I am a member of some survey sites, but I do it mainly for fun and only make a few bucks every so often.  Definitely not income to depend on.  For a good free comprehensive list of legitimate companies that hire at home workers go to http://www.workathomedesk.com then click on Work At Home Directory. They also have updated job postings. Depending on your experience and skills you should be able to find something there. Good luck!

  2. reading emails is miserably paid for some $2 per hour if you are in US/CAN. There are a couple of ways it works for the company who hires you to 'read' - it is either brainwashing text which describes how excellent and gorgeous and wonderful the product is and eventually some of those who read emails will buy it OR those are texts with ads inside and every time you click on ad the publisher gets paid (something similar to click fraud). Taking surveys: presumably your opinion as a consumer is very 'important' for companies and they are willing to pay you for answering questions about a product or brand or something. Well, guess what, as a person who does marketing surveys i can assure you that professional survey takers are not at all a good source of information. Now, from the point of view of the survey taker you will either get enrolled  in a draw 1 prize for thousands respondents or yo will get paid 50 cents per completed survey which will take 2hrs to complete.

To wrap it up, both reading emails and taking surveys for money are totally B.S.

sorry for not showing you the bag with golden eggs but that's how things are. Sincerely yours.

  3. In most situations i would feel as it was a lie. Personally I've never done one of these for the obvious reason of safety. Any way you approach it you should be careful/

  4. Hi,

I have a lot of experience marketing small companies online (I have 3 companies).  One of the best ways is to sign up at business directories and protals.  These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book).  The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.

My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive.  I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info.  I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

I don't know if they still have that promotion, but you can try to get the free card holder here:

    Good Luck

  5. I feel taking surveys takes too long and the pay is not the greatest.  I am involved in a company that pays me to advertise my website.  It only takes 5-10 minutes a day, max and I get paid daily.  This is not a gimmick.  This is a legitimate business.  I have made money every day since I started the business two months ago.  If you are looking for easy and simple just check it out.  It is f.r.e.e. to join and then you decide if you want to become involved with any money or not.  This is the easiest money I have ever made.

  6. I would say they are a crock.  In a very small instance, maybe there was one or 2 jobs legitimately.  But the reality is, these were just promotions for something else.

Any "job" that asks you for money is a scheme to be avoided.

    Good question !
