  1. That's a great cage actually. I'd put no more than four females or three males in it. It would be absolutely fine for two rats.

You can check these types of things with rat cage calculators like this one: http://www.fancy-rats.co.uk/information/...

  2. It's not big enough- refer to your other question for more details.

  3. You might fit 2 rats in there, they be just a little squished. Try finding another cage. But if you cant, buy this one. My friends have three rats in an aquarium. One level and 30inch. long.

  4. We have had MANY rats ,, they are the Coolest pets! We even bought a lil rat sized harness & a light kitty leash so we could take our rats out side for a walk. Should have seen the looks we got when we walked the rat to the school bus stop to meet the kids! Every window on that bus had a kids head hanging out pointing at "Checkers".

Checkers lived the longest of all our rats, all most 3 YEARS! The pet store owner called him "Yoda" ,He was amazed at how we were able to keep him alive for so long. LOVE is the key. Well as to your ?.. Ya that should be fine,But NO more then 2, Is it a cage or a fish tank? If It`s a cage, Like mine ,I made a wooden box 10" wide x 7" deep x 5" tall , the top was on hinges so i could open & clean it. The door on the front was 21/2 x 21/2" Hole. Then cut away the bars on the side leaving NO SHARP edges & mounted the box outside the cage so it didn't take up any space inside the cage. Oh Ya, Use 3/4" thick wood (Pine),they will chew it. I also made a suspended "cat walk" out of 21/2" wide strips of ply wood with a ramp @ front & back, They would chase each other up 1 side, across & down the other. It was GREAT exercise for them. If you need any pointers just Email me.

  5. That cage is HUGE.

You could fit 3 rats in that.

  6. Depending on the s*x of the animals, and how often you plan on taking them out.

I have two females I keep in a tri-level cage that is 24"Lx16"Wx24"H, and then have plenty of room to wander around, play a little, and sleep stretched out to their content. But I definetly wouldn't consider it enough room for 24/7 exposure. I let my rats free roam around the house for an hour or two a day to play and stretch.

For my males, though, I have a cage that is 3 times bigger then that. Plus free roaming time.

Female rats stay smaller and could live fine in your cage if you only had one or two. But if you have more then two I would say DEFINETLY NOT. Males, on the other hand, get way too big for a cage that size. I would definetly suggest something bigger if you have a male or two. But if you have a little female or two, it is fine as long as you provide them plenty of out of cage time and play time with you.
