  1. That's not enough to go on.  It wouldn't hurt if you got him evaluated, docs are the only ones that can diagnose anyway.

  2. I do not know.  I think that more information is needed and the child needs to be tested.  It could be autism or another pervasive disorder.

  3. At this age you can probably say Developmental Delay but too soon to label as ASD

  4. Ask your pediatrician about your concerns. I'd cut out the TV, because that's really not good for small children, according to studies.

  5. All of these things in some instances are normal for a three year old. If his vocabulary does not continue to expand, his sensitivity to water is severe, or consistently doesn't respond to his name, you may want to see a professional.

  6. Please, Please, PLEASE, get a proper diagnosis as soon as possible.

As said before this is not the place for a medical decision, and you may have to be demanding and forcefull with the medical authorities but please dont give up. Please also do a bit of research on the web about autism - if only to help you help him, if he is autistic he sees the world differently to you and making him conform to the way a 3 1/2 should behave will only cause problems. for example the potty training - my autistic son refused to pee in the toilet or potty for ages despite us cajoling etc but one day a "switch" seemed to click in his brain and he never needed nappies again. Remember to show him you love him in a way he accepts and accept his love in the way he is able to show you.

    Best wishes, Paul

  7. See a professional.  This is not the place to get a diagnosis.  There could be a medical reason for the problem or at least contributing to the problem.  See a doctor first.  The doctor may suggest further evaluation.

  8. I would have to say that he needs to be checked out by a pediatrician and then get an referral to be seen by a psychologist.  They are the ones that can diagnose.  As a special education teacher, the earlier it is diagnosed,  the sooner that services ( speech, physical therapy, occupational therapy) can start.  Hope this helps.
