brother:

ok, i made a small bet with my sister for 10 dollers. i told her she had to give me $10 if i won the bet, and i did. she ended up taking $10 from me and then giving it to me. so, would you count this as fair. although i did say she had to give me $10, and she did, would you count the debt as paid or do you think

she should pay me $10. the majority of opinions will decide if she pais me or not.

sister:

i made a bet with my brother that if he gave me the laptop charger then i would give him 10$ i was crossing my fingers but he said tht it was like if the prez barrowed 10,000,000$ from canada and not giving it back because he crossed his fingers.!!! i told him tht was SO different but NO. and notice how he says i had to GIVE him 10$...well i did. he never said ...u have to give me 10$ that comes out of ur bank. so i BORROWED 10$ from him and gave it to him...i did everything i should!

do u think i should have to pay...or us just forget about it cuz i played fair

  1. If your sister takes money from you (steals/borrows/takes etc), that money cannot be used to pay a gambling debt.

You had a bet, and she lost, but is now refusing to pay.  It's pretty unsporting of her, and shows a general weakness of character, together with a liberal dose of immaturity.

But what you going to do sue her?  She's your sister.  Just remember not to bet with her in the future since she can't be trusted to pay if she loses.

  2. yes and no. she may have paid the $10, but according to what is asked in your question, she BORROWED the money to pay off the debt so technically she did pay it off but now she owes you the $10 that she borrowed to pay it off.  either way she still owes you $10. like one of the previous people said, dont bet with her again as you know the problem you are having to get the money she already owes you for this bet. i had a similar problem with my brother and i had to keep after him to pay me the money he had borrowed from me. it did take time for him to pay it off but he finally did. maybe you could say something to your sister every couple of days about paying you the money she borrowed to pay off the bet you had with her. you could say that she paid the bet off but she borrowed the money from you to do so and now she owes for borrowing the money.

  3. no, the sister is cheating. she needs to give her OWN $10, she cant just take somebodys cash and give it back to them
