Okay, tonight I am hosting a good old slumber party. This is what I MIGHT be serving (it depends on if y'all like the meal):

Grilled hamburgers

Grilled bell peppers (Should I cut them in rings or sticks?)

Plantains (How should I serve them?)

Strawberries (dessert)

Oh, and here is breakfast:

Waffles (with some thyme in them)

Eggs (How should I prepare them?)

  1. bell peppers- rings

plantains- serve them by themselves with salt, mmmmm

    eggs- scrambled

that sounds really good to me

  2. Hamburgers with the 'works'.

Bell Peppers..raw in sticks, dip in Ranch dressing.

Plantains, make sure they are ripe & sweet, cut thin slices and fry till golden brown (sweet chips).

    Strawberries with whipped cream.

    Waffles with blueberries, not thyme.

Scrambled eggs with melted cheese in them.

  3. well Hamburgers sound good. green peppers you should do in sticks...I have no clue what plantains are..lol and strawberries...you should have choclate with them...choclate covered strawberies are the best waffles are good, and eggs, prolly scrambled with salt and pepper.

  4. i lyk i lyk

    heres my ideas

Breakfast: egss sunnyside up,with sausage and grilled mushroom and fresh toasst

for the bell peppers try this corn stuffed bell peppers

    6 Medium green bell peppers

3 C. fresh or frozen corn kernels

    1 C. diced fresh tomato

    1 tbsp. chopped onion

    3 tbsp. flour

    1 tsp. salt

    1 tsp. chilli powder

    1/4 tsp. ground black pepper

2 tbsp. melted margarine or butter

    Directions

Slice tops from peppers, remove seeds and white membranes. Put peppers in a large saucepan, cover with salted water. Cover pan and bring to a boil, boil for about 5 minutes. Drain and set aside

Combine remaining ingredients, spoon into drained green peppers. Place in baking pan and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 35-45 minutes or until done

    Cuban style Plantain

    Vegetable oil for frying

Green plantain, peeled and cut into 2" slices

    Salt

    Directions

Peel the plantain: Cut the ends of each plantain off with a sharp knife. Use the knife to cut through the peel only the entire lenth of the plantain. Loosen the peel along the cut and remove peel by hand.

Cut the plantain into slices, about 2" to 2 1/2" wide.

Fill a large skillet a third full with oil and heat over medium-high heat to a temperature of about 300 degrees F. Once the oil is hot, fry the plantain slices for approximately 3 to 5 minutes, turning once, just long enough to make them soft.

Remove the plantains and drain on paper towels. Use a plantain press or a brown paper bag folded over to smash the plantains to about half their thickness.

Let the oil come back to a higher temperature -- this time about 375 degrees F. Fry once again, turning occasionally, until golden brown on both sides.

Remove and use paper towels to absorb excess oil. Sprinkle with plenty of salt and serve.

    strawberrys and ice-cream

  5. Grill the peppers in rings, they would be great ro eat alone or on the burgers. Fry plaintains in butter and a little brown sugar. Make scrambled eggs w/cheese and onions. Have fun!

  6. Grilled Hamburgers sounds good

Grilled Bell Peppers (Sticks sound better because it's easier to eat, I guess)

Plantains (cooked, of course, perhaps even fried)

    Strawberries (optional whipped cream)

    Waffles are good

    Eggs (Scrambled with some cheese)

  7. I prefer bell peppers in rings, and plaintains grated and deep fried.

Waffles: are you supposed to put thyme in them? I guess that would be fine if you put some strawberry sauce on them

Eggs: i prefer scrambled or in omeletts with cheese.

  8. totally! im starving though.and if there's little kids they might not like grilled peppers. and isn't thyme like pepper or something?...idk, but it doesn't sound like it belongs in a waffle.

  9. That is such a uninspired meal and pretty unhealthy.

    Back to the drawing board.

  10. scrambled eggs with cheese.  Don't forget to season them.  Wow, all of that sounds good.  Am I invited?

  11. i would prepare the eggs scrambled, the green peppers in rings and i have no clue what plantains are.all of the food sounds good!

  12. Sounds good cut the bell peppers. Plantians don't know what that is. Strawberries yeah sure. waffles and eggs i guess.

  13. I'm not really feeling your menu. Instead, how about coconut shrimp, veggie kabobs and steamed fish? You might consider having one or two types of cereal, bagels, and french toast or waffles, along with both milk and juice for breakfast. Your guests then get a variety to choose from and won’t go home hungry.
