  1. Not so much.  If you need a quote, this one smacks of irony:

    "A book is a loaded gun in the house next door. Burn it. Take the shot from the weapon. Breach man’s mind."

    This is ironic because Beatty is being sarcastic; it is the opposite of what he believes.  If you need to provide supporting evidence, he says:

    “Knowledge is power.”  (what he truly believes)
