is there any kind of puff fish that lives in tropical water

  1. yes, several,

    the most common are dwarf puffers. they are semi agressive three inch green spotted fish that can live in smaller tanks. they eat blood worms, and hunt snails, you can add another puffer if you tank is atleast  ten gallons.


  2. most puffers even close to freshwater are brackish but there is the Indian Dwarf Puffer  (Tetraodon travancoricus)  that reqires no salt and only gets to 1 inch in length and Fahaka Puffer  (Tetraodon lineatus)

  3. Dwarf puffers and figure 8 puffers, most will argue about the figure 8 but they are found in fresh waters.  Those are the most popular.

  5. Dwarf puffer can live in freshwater but green spotted puffer will die in freshwater because it is brackish water which requires a high pH. Will not survive long without marine salt.
