  1. well first off.  if it was your appendix you would be feeling really sick (nauseous, fever, etc.) because your appendix holds all of the bacteria that has been in your body. but for appendicitis you feel the pain on your left side than on your right. and your appendix is located on your right side just about 2 inches above your hip bone... but you said you felt it under your ribs so it might not be your appendix... maybe your gull bladder.

go see your doctor if you are concerned.

  2. Right before I went to the hospital when I had my appendix removed, well for most of the day really, it was a constant pain.  But the days previous it would hurt off and on.  And the location seems right, but in my case it didn't matter to me if I was sitting, standing or laying down, it just hurt and not like a normal body pain it was a lot more intense.

  3. Any chance it's "just gas"? I still remember in my last semester of high school, getting a friend to take me down to the nurse one day because of severe abdominal pain that felt like appendicitis, and it turned out to be a nasty trapped gas pocket. Try taking some simethicone (Gas-X or whatever)--can't hurt anything, and if it helps you'll know what the problem was. If it doesn't, you probably do want to get to a doctor.

  4. I'd get a doctors appt soon. It could be gallbladder or liver  trouble too. Both often cause pain on the right side. Does it seem to be after you do as specific activity, example eating something? Good Luck, but at least you feel better at the moment, what did you do to make it feel better? Anything specific that you recall-again the more info you can give the doctor the faster he can diagnosis without a lot of costly tests.
