Idea for villains in my story, the "souless"

They are souless and live by draining energy off other peoples souls around them, thus making the people sick. They have quirks which makes them very distinguishable, the way they move and look, not to mention shivering when low on energy. They are addicts to drawing other energy and if they don't they decompose.

There is a sympath vampire that lives off of emotions, especially negative emotions. I think yours sound like the Harry Potter dementors.

Do they take souls or get energy from the emotions?

No they actually sound like Dementors from Harry Potter. You're going to have to come up with some other quirks or else you'll be getting sued by J.K Rowling.

Yeah, what asdf said--when I read that I immediately thought of dementors. In fact, if you hadn't said they were yours, I would've thought you were describing the dementors. Not at all like vampires.

Not really. I agree, it sounds more like the dementors, so you will have to distinguish a difference between them and the dementors.
