Does this increases my chances of Getting in to COllege?

Soo i've heard that if you wanted to increase your chances to get into a better college, on your admission you put in a less popular major that way they will accept you! and when you finally get accepted you Change ur major.

For example .. I want to get in to either UNC Chapel Hill or NOrth carolina STAte and i want to major something in business which is somewhat popular in those colleges. If i put my major on poultry science or agronomics will that increase my chances?

No.  Admission is based on GPA and SAT/ACT scores.  The areas you cite would go to a different college...so changing once there would be very difficult.  (They function internally like separate businesses.) (college professor)

Yes, a little and only if the popular majors are really popular so the school has too many students applying for them. However, switching majors can be extremely difficult and time consuming so it might not be worth it
