I need to give somebody this picture because i won a contest and i'm just wondering if this link works on your computer.

file:///C:/Documents%20and%20Settings/...

I know the name weird.

If the link isn't a link, you know the drill =) open a new window or tab on google or firefox and copy and paste it on the upper search bar :)

  1. That link is to a local file on your computer. It isn't on the internet.

If you want to send someone the picture, host it on a free image hosting site (try www.tinypic.com ) and send them the link you get from that.

  2. That link means different things to different computer. The 'file:///c:/' parts means your local C drive, but everybody's local C drive is different. You should never communicate a link like that to another person.

  3. those aren't internet links...

that link i your COMPUTER files...

    and NO it doesn't work..

    try photobucket.com

  4. OK lets say u have a pic named "cat.jpg" and i have a pic named "cat.jpg" both in My pictures, when you give that link ill see my Cat.jpg pic

  5. It will work for you as the link is to a file on your computer.  It will not work for anyone else if put on an online web/blog page.  The picture must be online and the proper path set to it for it to work for everyone else.
