Does this look like a good computer kit???

My Dad wants me to build a computer for both of us to use. I've never built a computer before and want to know if this would be a easy kit. (im thinking about getting the level 1 gaming kit)

ill probably use it for gaming since we already have 2 computers to do school work and stuff like that. oh and ill be putting knoppix as one of the two operating systems

  1. If you want to play around building computers-OK. But a couple of things are not to good,especially if you want to upgrade later. I would think about buying a better one or buy other parts-but that will cost more.

    PSU to weak-380 Watts-no good if you want to upgrade later.

    On board Video card ?For a gaming rig you need a better one.

    DVD-ROM that is NOT a burner! Read Only!

    Asus main board-but bottom of the line?

    Ram OK-would increase to 3GB later.

    I hope you realize that building your own computer will cost you more than buying one.


  2. The level 1 kit isn't very good for gaming. It only has 2GB of slow RAM, and it has integrated graphics, which aren't very good.  I wouldn't buy from there. Even their gaming kit isn't very good. If you want a halfway decent gaming PC, you'll need to spend some more money, about $650, try this-
