Its about $2100 for a 7 hr time block, that doesn't include food though. Is that a decent price for a rental?

We're still looking(wedding is one year 7/25/09). I've had my eyes on this place, but whats been holdingme back is they have tons of rules. No bird seed, no flower pedals, no candles, etc.

  1. It's beautiful but a little too strict, and I dont think you would want strangers to invade your wedding

  2. the place is beautiful, reminds me of where i am getting married. It s not the average ballroom type of place which i absolutely love, but thats me i would use wooden chivari chairs and rustic decor. It just gives a natural close to nature feel. LOVE IT!, but i suggest you lokk at all ur options first and finalise ur guest list b4 u choose as i chose a place and now i probably have to cut my guest list list cause it grew and may not be able to accomodate evryone. GOOD LUCK! and explore all ur options u have time to do so.

  3. It looks very nice.

I had the option of renting a mansion near me (harrisburg, pa) for $1,600 for the day (not including food).  So I'd say your cost is pretty typical - - I would just be curious if the 7 hrs is for everything (setup AND reception) or just the time alloted for the reception and then you would get a bit extra for setup.

  4. I think that it is very pretty but as stated before....make sure that you check it out in person before hand and see what it really is like. Also for that price I would look into what the food is going to cost as well!! That might be a bit expensive

  5. It looks nice...I think $2100 is a very reasonable price.  I live in the Santa Cruz area, and paid $2500 for the site rental for my daughter's wedding.

It's good to see that they have a bride's dressing area.  You'll probably want to find out if there's also somewhere for the groom to get ready.

Also, it says the caterer has to do clean-up.  You'll want to be sure that either they know that (probably standard, if you choose one of the site's preferred caterers), and/or have some friends ready to do the work.

  6. beutiful place.A little pricey I think.

  7. Wow, thats beautiful!  I don't really know if thats a good price because so much of that depends on location (I'm in NE Ohio).  Look around at other places in your area and see if its comprable.  If it is and you like it there, go for it!  Also, lots of wedding locations do have lots of rules.  If its an issue, I'd look elsewhere.

  8. Very beautiful place and a resonable price.

But I wouldn't get married there.

  9. The reason for the no bird seed, flower petals, etc is to keep the place clean.  Some poor soul has to clean all that up.  As for candles, I'm thinking it's a precautionary thing for them.  They know people will be drunk, and drunk people and candles are a huge tragedy waiting to happen.

I don't know about a decent price.  Your groom probably doesn't care where you get married.

  10. I think thats a good price. Its a fair price. Its a nice place, if the inside rooms are nice and you like the food, then it would be perfect!

About the flower petals, there will always be a few compromises you will make along the way. This place is so pretty that you dont NEED anything extra like flower petals. So in the end, I doubt you will miss them that much.

  11. its nice but i would look around more, it seems like a lot of money and they sure dont you leave you with many options...but good luck!!

  12. Go there and check it out. Check out other places too. Then make your decision. A LOT of places look really nice in pictures but you will see when you go what it is really like.

    Good luck!
