Or this http://www.guitarcenter.com/Shure-SM57-Instrument-Vocal-Mic-100038239-i1126420.gc .

Using this http://www.guitarcenter.com/Line-6-TonePort-GX-USB-Recording-Interface-104484647-i1275725.gc . What do you guys think? I'm working on a budger so I'm hoping to get at least decnet quality.

  1. The 58 is the world standard for live vocals, and will work OK for recording.  You're better off getting a good condenser mic if you can afford it, tho.  The 57 is commonly used for micing amps, drums & is good for female vox.  I'd get a little bit better an interface, though.  See if you can stretch your budget to an Mbox, or even a tascam interface.  Far superior sound quality, if you don't need all the whiz-bang effects.
