In blue maroon

I am bartered and I'm sold.

In blue maroon

always the sun, never the moon.

My heart bought for silver and gold,

walking the cosmos, growing old

in blue maroon.

It sounds lovely, but wistful as well.

I have yet to figure out it's meaning...but i think perhaps it relates to loneliness and unrequited love. Perhaps?

It doesn't make sense in a literal way (poetry usually doesn't) but the reader can interpret that any way he/she wants. Sounds good with the A B A B rhyme scheme.

marron means without hope of ready escape so your poem could make since if you changed sun to moon since your poem is supposed to be depressing unless of course you are saying you being dpressed makes you feel better is that what you saying? i assume not you cannot have a bright depression can you? can you be werry of your sorroundings happy content or satisfied when your depressed no you cannot so if you say moon instead of sun, unless you add on more because sun could actually work since your poem is called drifter so you could actually be "drifting from depression to joy.... now the question is, do i make sence? have a nice day keep up the work im interested in what you can create next since you do have a grasp on the relitive subject

It does make sense to a person with a blue maroon thingy in their past. With personal references for context, we can make many things from this. I saw the actual anatomically correct color of the beating human heart. TD
