Does this make me a bad roommate?

I've been stressing about having a new stranger for a roommate. I like to stay in my room a lot, and am really shy but I am really nice too. I just don't feel comfortable around people I don't know so it makes it difficult for me to talk to this new girl. I feel horrible for being such a recluse and I'm pretty sure she thinks I'm a weirdo, but how can I make myself comfortable enough around her to get to know her? Do you think she thinks I'm crazy for seemingly avoiding her?

You two need an ice breaker outing. Go out together and hit a couple of bars. Have a couple of drinks and play twenty questions. Tell each other your life stories, etc.
