Does this make me a hypocrite?

I am a meat eater and I do disagree with the way animals are being treated. I saw a few videos how pigs are castrated without anesthetics and cows being beaten with rods. What can I do to help other than becoming a vegan or vegetarian?

  1. there is only one thing you can do and that is giving up meat. You can't go around telling other people how cruel it is is to slaughter animals to eat.You have to set an example.

  2. Even if you don't want to become a vegan or a vegetarian, you can still try cutting down on eating meat, dairy, and other animal products. It doesn't have to be an all-or-nothing situation.

You can try to inform people about what happens to animals, like by spreading around the videos you watched, leafleting, etc. Although if you tell people they shouldn't eat meat or animal products, then to answer your subject question, yes, that would make you a hypocrite.

Other things you can do to help animals are using only products that aren't tested on animals, volunteering at an animal shelter, not buying or using leather, fur, silk, wool, etc., and writing to companies that use animal products or conduct animal testing to tell them that you don't agree with it.

Just curious, if you don't agree with the way animals are being treated, why don't you want to go vegetarian/vegan?
