Question:

Does this make sense, professionally and academically?

I am six credits away from my bachelors in International Relations and I'd like to go back to University to obtain a B.A. in French as well. I'm currently taking French 1 but I'd like to study the language and have an academic background in it but it seems silly to just complete a bachelors and go back to get a second. Someone please inform me of a more responsible decision to make in order to have a certifiable background in French.

Thank you.

  1. Go for your Masters. Have a great day!

  2. If I were you I would do either an MA or a minor in French.  An MA probably would require some undergraduate preperation, whereas a minor would probably be 15-18 hours, including the introductory classes.

  3. It would totally depend upon what your goal is in terms of having a French language background, but a second BA almost never makes sense.

  4. Professionally, a second BA won't do anything for you.  Have you thought about an MA?
