Ok I was starting to say they shoudl resolve it diplomaticly like the Georgian presdant wanted but Russia isn't stoping I want Bush to get his *** back here and stop kissing Chinese *** and deal with this same with the Eu and NATO regardless of who started it thats all up in the air the Russians are out of line their past what they said they went in for they took S.O. and their not stopping it's time for Eu,Us and NATO to step in the diplomatic efforts and if it fails to use brute military force

That's one possibility, or they may just want to ensure that Georgia will be in no position to militarily threaten S. Ossetia or Abkazia ever again, or they may want to capture Georgia's President and try him as a war criminal.

I think that is what they are going for. Georgia is a valuable piece of property, not only is it the breadbasket of the region, but also has an oil pipeline running through it. If there was one satellite state which would help Russia out to own, Georgia would be it.

Georgia really goofed by provoking Russia over Ossetia.

No No No did the Russians want to take over Afghanistan? The Russians learned their lesson long ago when bin laden kicked their b**t to Afghanistan. They don't want to occupy it!

They just want to send a message to Georgia and any other former states of Russia that crossing the line and trying to push western ideologies on Russia will be firmly dealt with

Kid iant not a war expert but i think that Russia wants to make the old Russia once again so yea they are gonna want to take Georgia. This is a very delicate situation we are talking about, probably all answers you get are wrong cause none of us really knows what will happen even if we think we are, i just hope this dosent end whit US getting in the war.
