Ok, I never noticed this but like 3 weeks ago my dad bought this powdered chocolate that you put into a drink (he and I put it with ice and fruits for a smoothie instead) and what he says "makes your muscles bigger" I didnt believe him and I dont think anything that is legal could make your muscles bigger cause when I read the bottle it said all this scientific nosense that I had no clue about.

Well, Ive been taking the poweder (in a smoothie of course) for about 2 weeks now and while im not buldging huge ive noticed I have grown reasonably bigger in my chest and arms areas (biceps and triceps). But then again I do workout almost every other day (its not that often)

He said take the drink every day and only 1 scoop of powder per day or youll get kidney problems with more than one scoop.

ALSO: this is a serious topic, if your willing to help and answer my question please post. and be honest.

  1. All muscle milk does is provide you with protein to rebuild and repair your muscles since the muscle fibers in your muscles have been broken down during your workout, it's not some magic drink that gives you muscles.

Your dad is wrong about taking 1 scoop once a day.  You can take more than one scoop.  You need 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, and your body should be provided with adequate protein every 3 hours to keep it out of a catabolic (muscle-burning) state.  The protein you eat throughout the day should be from whole foods, and complete proteins (eggs, lean chicken)

Excess protein causing renal (kidney) failure is a myth.  This only applies to people who have a history of kidney problems.  If you and your family do not suffer from kidney problems, any excess protein will be excreted through wastes.

    Best of luck!

  2. yea it does protein = muscle

    work out with it though

  3. Muscle milk is like any other protein enhancement.  It aids in muscle recouperation after a workout.  You should take the protein powder shortly after your workouts.  This is when the muscles need the protein the most to recover.

I use simple whey protein (with milk if I'm bulkin...juices if I'm not).  Another good supplement would be creatine.  Creatine helps muscle recovery and also maintains your pump longer.  Some premade shakes contain creatine (I don't know if the Muscle Milk brand does or not).

Steroids are a totally different animal altogether.  They do increase muscle size dramatically but have some very undesireable after effects.

  4. It's not muscle milk, it's protien powder you put in your drink to help with the lack of meat some people eat.

This stuff can cause kidney problems, so I suggest you just eat some plain old fried chicken(or baked to be healthy) to get protein, and do some cardio in your workout to burn off the extra calories from the meat.
