Question:

Does this poem hint at what it's like to discover a rainbow?

Vision blurred, I swipe at stinging mixture,

sorrow's tears, summer's rain in lashes mingled.

Unfocused eyes downward gaze, catching

black grackle seizing rain-surfaced worm

twisting for release from predator's grasp.

Swiftly, crow gives flight, my vision remains

locked, he travels until clouds he does part.

My pupils in response quickly close to shield

blinding shaft of new light the opening revealed.

Eyes adjust quickly, I've lost my black friend,

instead find hued arch, colors vivid and pure.

Breath catches at sight, I pause and reflect,

eyes remain focused on sky's neon bow,

inviting God's promise to the depth of my soul.

  3. i dont think this has anything todo with find a g*y person

you didnt mention the late nights in dirty back alleys or the married men and there young alter boys

but if were talking about rainbows as in the ones in the sky then in thats case you hit the nail on the head

  4. As vivid as a dream. The grackle really sets a somber mood in the first half, making the rainbow even sweeter in the end.

  5. Filled with color and imagery. So good, in fact, that many feel it was written by a master poet. I'll be standing with you when that cop gives you the Poetry Award for Achievement.

  7. I can see it, through unfocused eyes. Thanks Ma, for showing me, it is beautiful !

  8. Yes, ma...it does more than just hint at it.

Cast off the darkness of sorrow and rejoice in the possibility of better times ahead.

"Rejoice, rejoice...we have no choice but to carry on."

  9. PP: Do you know why I pulled you over, Ms. Ma?

    M: No, Sir, Officer.

PP: I pulled you over because you crossed the yellow line, and then the blue line, the pink line, the green line, and then finally the white line.

    M: Huh?

PP: We call it the "Rainbow Violation." Your court date is shown on your award.

    M: Huh?

    PP: Have a nice day.

  10. Downward focus:

    pain, struggles & death

    Upwards:

    light's ingredients and promise.

Very zaggy using the dark bird to

    facilitate the transfer of focus.

  17. very nice poem ma.....i love the music of its thoughts and the subtle images. sorrow's tears, summer's rain...how beautifully those two phrases come together...a prefect blend of thoughts and sounds...i love it.

  18. Isn't the journey of life wonderful when you stop and watch. After the rains a multi-colored wonder arrives, a symbol of love and of a promise that one never tires of seeing. How remarkable such a thing of beauty flies higher than the flags of any country, and how ironic.

  19. Look at what you have become.
