ok i was watching a tv show and they said there was an external hard drive called an s drive. They said you could use it to hide files on your computer in things like a picture so if you had files you didnt want people to see you could hide them in a picture file on your computer. Is this true? and if it is....where can I buy one?

  1. Yea those thing's do exist their are programs that can hide things in like pictures and stuff. But I forget what their called, and I don't have any idea what this whole s drive thing their were talking about it is.

  2. No, but you can make files hidden by right clicking then clicking Properties, then under the 'general' tab check the check-box called 'hidden' then click 'OK' then refresh the area where you see the file so you can see the results. This file wiill still be visible to executable programs but not displayed in open file dialogs or explorer windows.

  3. never heard of it, but who knows, although to hide files from users on your computer you could always password protect your computer by creating an account or password compress/zip folders using winrar.

  4. False claim on television. There is a S: Drive but it is not a extra hardware, infact it a Share Data Area (on a Existing HDD on server) that is available to Staff WTS (Windows 2000 service). For more information on S: Drive see http://www.ucl.ac.uk/is/filestore/sdrive... .

  5. I think Vista figures out the file format on its own, but earlier versions of Windows don't, so you can change the file extension and it will not come up in an image, it will seem like corrupt junk.

I'd suggest not doing this though... it's safer to just get a flash drive and keep it with you always.

  6. I am not aware of a drive that does this BUT there is a way to do this software wise

  7. False.
