Does this quote make sense?

ok so my friend likes to make up quotes. she goes through a lot of tough times and she says these really deep things... or so they seem. she made this one up and i'm not sure if it makes sense:

"Confidence is the mere approach of the moment when you look at yourself in the mirror imagining it to be a photograph and saying...I wish I was her."

If you can decipher that and tell me if it makes sense to you, that would be great. Or is my friend trying too hard to sound... deep?

  1. It would make more sense to be "SELF-confidence" which is an attribute rather than belief in something specific. Also, it should be unconditional and in the present ( e.g. I'm glad that I'm me. ).

  2. I think it at least nearly makes sense. And she's also definitely trying too hard. I would recommend removing all inspirational quote posters from areas where she spends a lot of time.

  3. Keep me up to date with the latest ones that she says. Ask her to keep a little blog, journal or diary to post them in.

  4. No it doesn't make sense. The start of the quote seems to be a definition of 'Confidence' but then goes on to define the opposite. It would make more sense to say :-

Confidence is the mere approach of the moment when you look at yourself in the mirror imagining it to be a photograph and saying...I'm glad that I'm her."
