Does this result to a 1ohm load?

Each sub is running at 4ohm.. i have a mono block amp with 2 sets of speaker terminals.... I need to wire them to 1ohm and ive been told this is how u do it... just asking for a second opinion... Thanks

  1. some mono amps have 2 sets of outputs for making it easier to hook up two subs. there really is only 1 + and - inside the amp...it's just split at the output.

    so, if your subs are 2ohm, this will produce a 1ohm load on the amp. (if you have 4ohm dvc's wired to 2ohm, same thing) if each sub is 4ohm, the amp will see a 2ohm load.

  3. if you wire them into series and both are 4 ohm subs you will be at 2 ohms if they are two dual 4 ohm subs you will be at

    1 ohm in series

  4. I am not completely sure but it should it just depends on your amp load. The other thing is if its not you can bridge it from one port and thatll half the ohm
