I would not purchase any of the Canon line because of the low light rating being so poor.  Go to CNet.com and you can read the reviews of the rateres as well as those that have purchased the cameras.

But seriously, you gotta be more specific. Are you just wanting to shoot your kids birthday parties or are you wanting to do some indies with it or what? What's perfect for some situations is essentially useless for others.
