Does this seem odd to you?

I am 24 weeks pregnant and my doctor has never measured my uterus. During regular monthly checkups she tests my urine, blood pressure, and hears the heartbeat. I go in tomorrow for my checkup and wasn't sure if I should ask her about it. Does it seem odd to you that she doesn't measure it?

  1. They usually wait til after 30 weeks.  Because you just got measured during your 18-20 week ultrasound.  As long as your doing good and everything, they usually don't start measuring til you get closer.  But you can ask your doctor, so you get it straight from her.

  2. They didnt measure me at 24 weeks either, I think they started doing that at about 32 weeks. They always check your urine, blood pressure ect.

  3. my doctor doesnt either i went in at 28 weeks and that was the first time my dr measured my uterus

  4. Measuring tells nothing about your pregnancy. Most measuring is inaccurate at anytime during pregnancy as the baby is continually moving and shifting positions within you. Best wishes, G

  5. I'm 27 weeks and my doctor has never measured mine either.  I think they'll start at 30 weeks.

  6. They didn't start measuring me till my second half of my pregnancy. Don't worry!! And you can always ask your doctor anything. That's what she is there for.

  7. I'm 23 weeks and my doctor hasn't done it either.

He will feel my abdomen and tell me it feels just fine. I asked him and he said that he doesn't measure until about 28 weeks unless the external palpation feels out of the norm before that.

  8. During my daughters pregnancy they measured it every time but during this one my doctors only measured it once, but before that one said I was right on time with it so I guess some can tell just by looking?

I wouldn't be concerned with it, it's really the least thing to worry about compared to your blood pressure, the baby's heartbeat, etc.
