Question:

Does this sound good for a favor?

We decided on a fall wedding and we like the idea of pumpkins as centerpieces.

So with all those pumpkins we were going to make spicy pumpkin seeds and put them in little tins like these

With some custom labels and maybe some ribbon?

What do you think? Any ideas of something better?

  1. That sounds really cute, personal, inexpensive and seasonal! I say go for it!

Just remember to schedule enough time to MAKE all of these favors. And NOT the day before the wedding, of course. You could maybe also freeze the pumpkins so that they last longer. Buy one ahead of time and see how it reacts to freezing. Try to enlist some friends to help since "many hands make light work!"

    Sounds great! Good luck!

  2. That is a very unique idea and very fitting for a fall wedding.  Congradulations to the 2 of you and best of luck.

  3. I think it's a good idea...but again I look forward to fall and carving pumpkins just to eat the seeds lol

  4. I like the idea! we made a donation to breast cancer for ours and made cookies in the breast cancer ribbon shape and frosted them pink! everyone we told about them loves them (the wedding is a couple days away still) but it made inexpensive favors with a purpose! if you have the time to make them I say do (I recently learned that doing your own wedding DIY might be more work than you save money in the end) I would just also throw in some regular ones too because not everyone likes spicy

  5. I think your idea is great, season appropriate...and plays off your centerpiece theme.

I also had a fall wedding...for our favors I had a candy bar...and had candies like you would find in the penny candy stores from years ago (pixie sticks, root beer barrels, swedish fish to name a few)...then took small white bags...opened them and made rows next to the jars of candy. On each bag was a label that said "So sweet of you to come" with our names and wedding date below.

We used pumpkins, mums and hay bales...in case you need a few more decoraion thoughts.

    Congratulation and Good Luck.
