Does this sound legit? (acting and singing question)

okay, so first of all-im really interested in making a career out of singing and acting and have been since i was little. here is the problem:

1. i live in small town ohio, and obviously that isnt the best place to start that sort of career. yeah, i know, i should just move to LA or new york, but my family isnt in a financial place that that is possible. plus im only fifteen, so its not like i can do this all on my own.

2. the local community theater is very driven by monetary donations, so all of the doctors kids get all of the best roles-even if they are no good.

**here is what i was wondering:

first of all there is an add on the radio for talent scouts coming to my town for an open audition to get a foot in the door, and i was wondering what imput anyone has as to whether or not this seems legit. its a free service and its supposed to lead to agents, jobs, etc.

what do you think?

also, i figured i would put down some of the things i have already done in order to get a headstart:

1. i have done 8 community plays in 2 years as well as a school play, but as i said that dosent do to much.

2. ive gone to an acting camp three years in a row and plan on going to some other ones in the years to come

3. singing lessons, piano lessons, and school choir to keep getting better

anything would be helpful (except maybe haters! lol)

thanks soooo much!

:)

  1. You will never be famous.

    You can't act.

    You can't sing.

Don't get yourself excited like that.

  2. It is most likely not legit. There are always tons of scammers.

However, if you want to be "famous" you need to move. You're not going to magically be found right now. That is very unlikely. What you can do if you really want to be famous is practice what you want to do. Sing and act regularly. However, you can have the most practice in the world and still suck. Some people are talented and some aren't. Just figure out where you stand before you make a big commitment, and as a tip, don't rely on friends or family to tell you their opinion on your voice. They'll lie. The best way is from strangers who don't know you. [Internet etc.]

  3. It doesn't really sound legit but you should probably try anyway just in case

  4. i would go for it

    good luck
