Okay, so my mom recently noticed on our computer that when you go on a website sometimes, after a couple seconds some of the words turn into double-underlined hyperlinks. they are green, and when you scroll over them, there's an ad for a website that has something to do with that word. All of the ads say "Gamevance advertisement"

how did this randomly happen? is it a virus? if so, how do we fix it?

  1. well try d/l anti-virus and anti-spyware program and scan your computer.

  2. Someone who used your computer probably accidentally installed the Gamevance adware.

Try to uninstall this hardware in your Add/Remove software from the control panel.

Here are some links that might help you remove it from your computer:

  3. No it's not a virus.

    Just stupid Gamevance software.

You can delete it in your programs.

  4. No they sound like ad links. Usually they're words that point to a website that sells products related to the underlined words. They are not harmful as long as you don't click on them.

Do a virus and malware scan regularly and keep them up-to-date. Also install a good firewall.

  5. its not a virus its a browser addon, or a hijacking, just use Firefox and you'll be fine, but run a virus scan just in case.
