Does this sound more like mono? Or Strep Throat?

Aye,

I went to a friends house about 9-10 days ago to stay the afternoon. She drank after me then I drank from the water again and later she found out she had mono. Now I'm feeling a little sick too.

My Symptoms.

-Sore Throat

-Spots on tonsils

-Head&&Ear Aches

-Achiness--Especially in the knees

-Exhaustion

But from the Spots on the tonsils it makes me think that this could be Strep Throat.

I haven't scheduled an appointment with the doctor yet because I want to know if I more likely have strep or mono to know what I need to go in for. A test for strep throat or Mono Spot test.

If you go to an urgent care center today they will be able to test you for both. You definitely need seen today.

thats most likely mono especially since she has it too but to be sure just wait till ur doctors appointment and make sure dont take a wild geuss at it cuz u might think its not but it is and it could get worse so just make sure by goin to the doctor, my friends had the same thing she thought she had strep throut so she went to school and didnt care then she found out that it was mono. good luck hope u get better and hope u dont have mono its a pain in the butt

Sounds like either,get blood taken for both,you will know then.Mono however can produce a false positive result,you may need to be retested if this occurs.With Mono you sweat PROFUSELY,a tell tale sign.

The doctor will decide what to test for, and may order both tests.  Since mono depresses your immune system, it is possible to have both strep and mono at the same time; in fact that often happens.

Both diseases can cause significant longer term health problems if not treated promptly, please see your doctor ASAP.   A walk in or urgent care clinic could see you today and get you started on treatment.
