  1. those standards are not something you even want to attempt

  2. it's not that it's easy for military personnel.  It's appropriate for applicants interested in joining the military.

It used to be the Army didn't use any physical fitness test to join.  As long as you met and passed the physical at MEPS, you were golden.  Now, with shortages, nationwide, the entire Armed Forces is forced to elliminate the high attrition fall-out rates on new soldiers while decreasing the time it takes to condition them.

There's a method to all the madness I suppose.

But yes, to me who's been there and HAD to do that, it seems easy.  Less easy now that I'm retired but I still think I can do my 2 miles in less than 16 min.  :)

...and the requirements for the Army's 17-21 y/o males were roughly (these are the the minimum #'s you need to pass the APFT):

    42pu/2min

    50su/2min

    2mil run/no later than 16 min

  3. Yes, it does. What country are you from

I think it is so easy because it is just the application fitness standards.

Here is the US Army's standards: http://usmilitary.about.com/od/army/l/bl...

  4. US Marines

    3 mile run in 18mins

    100 situps in 2mins

    12 pull ups
