Does this type of lily only bloom once a year?

i bought a hardy lily earlier this year. it had a bunch of blooms on it. now i have it in the ground in an area where i thought it would get plenty of sun. around the corner of my deck. i have flowers on the side of the deck and in front of it. they grow well every year. i have lillies that look like spider plants and they have done well every year. this new hardy lily hasn't bloomed after losing the ones it had when i bought it. does the type of lily only bloom once a year? should i move it next year?

There are a ton of plants that have lily within their name.  If it's a true lily, a member of the Lilium plant group, then they typically flower once a year.   They then spend the rest of the growing season building up their strength to form flower beds inside that will flower next year.  Feed your plant now, so that you can have some great flowers next summer.  These plants flowers look like this: http://www.theflowerexpert.com/media/ima...

Other plants that have lily within their name include Daylily and Water lily, which will both bloom throughout the growing season, rather than in just one flush of flowers.

You don't say what kind you have.  Most aisian or oriental lilies do indeed bloom once a year.  They look great for several weeks, and then you wait until next year.  Daylilies usually have a longer bloom period.  Each flower only opens for one day, but it will produce flowers continually for about a month.

You don't say where you live - but if you live in a warm area, part-shade might help your lily.  If you live in a colder area, they could do full sun just fine.
