My husband is over in Iraq right now. He left a week before I found out I was pregnant with twins. We have a two year old daughter now and than I'm pregnant with twins. My husband is supose to come home at the begining of December.

Does this video make you sad or cry?

Thanks. Any advice in helping my daughter through her first deployment with her daddy that she remembers. The very first time he was deployed our daughter was 3months and he got home a couple days before she turned one. Than he left when she was 14months and got back when she was 22months old. Left again for the last time when she was 23months and she is two now.

Thanks

  1. It makes me proud of the men and women who are serving and who have served to defend our nation. Thank God for people like your husband and you who support him.

God bless and protect you and you husband.

  2. My husband is also in Iraq right now, and we have a 20 month old daughter. We were going to try for another baby this year, but that has been put off until he gets back next Spring. However, he *does* get a two-week leave in December, so if the times "right", we might try then.

My daughter talks about her Daddy all the time. We use the web cam, so she is able to "see" him a few times a week. I also have his pictures all over the house, and I will sometimes ask "where's Daddy" and our daughter will go find him. When I write letters (which is rare since we IM everyday) I always make/let her write or draw him a letter too. I make sure that she sees all the pictures he sends home, and I make sure that I am *always* saying something about Daddy.

I don't watch any war movies, and I don't watch any tv shows that are about soldiers (like Army Wives). I guess it just hits to close to home.

It's tough...I'm sure you know. I do sometimes worry about how she will act when he comes home for leave. By the time she got used to him again, he would have to leave. But, she's strong, and our family will be even closer once he's home for good....

Okay, I'll shut up now....LOL. If you ever need to vent, feel free to e-mail me. It's good to sometimes talk to someone who knows what you're going through.

  3. Very Emotional....Yet....Inspirational.....

    Good Luck....

  4. I really like that video, it is emotional though. My husband will be deploying around the time our daughter is 23 months for his first deployment. So I am going to be a stressed, it will be our first deployment and the first time our daughter will be away from her dad longer than two weeks. So any advice you can give me would be great :). I also really like this video, but pre warning it is very emotional. Its got a little girl saying a goodbye to her dad, with pics and music. Good luck with your deployment and your pregnancy. God bless you and your family and soldier.

  5. That video is very sad.

And as I have said before, although I don't support the war, I hope families from BOTH sides are able to go home to their children and family too :)

Wish you the best of luck!
