I was wondering if anti depressants work once you have been heartbroken and are mentally / emotionally ehxausted and which one is the best if thats the case??

Anti-depressants are generally prescribed as a temporary (sometimes long term) remedy for serious cases of  long-running and significant depression.

Break-ups are a normal part of life and living and as such, are not a reason to start anti-depressants, nor should any doctor/psychiatrist prescribe them to you for this reason.

when breaking up with someone you just have to get over it on your own, Because you can't get on meds everytime you have a break up, each break up makes you stronger for the next one, its a part of life. Depend on your self, not pills. Because your strongest anti depressant should be you.
