  1. I dont know...

We live half of our lives sleeping <dreaming>

    Are we awake or asleep?

  2. Don't smoke anymore today:-)

  3. Yes, it's like visiting a "foreign" land for me.

Here is something from the story of the Prodigal Son on that. The story goes that the son left his father for a foreign land... but as the son got tired of it, he turned around and went home.

So I think the sense that this life is not real is legitimate. That kind of idea comes along as we are waking up from a long sleep. More on my bio if you are interested.

  4. It's real enough to stub my little toe against, and that's convincing enough for me.

  5. ya it kinda does somedays i wake up wondering if i'm still in a dream

  6. A lot of the time, I personally don't feel "real."

It's called dissociation, and it's a symptom of my post traumatic stress disorder.

    It sucks.

But, no, I don't really ascribe to the "world is illusion" theory.

Much as I dislike my life sometimes, I'm not entirely ready to ditch my present state of being to become one with everything else.  Maybe I'd be happier if I realized that the world is the Matrix...or maybe I'd just want to get back in because I couldn't stand the nutrient gloop and the artfully ripped sweaters underground.

So, no, sometimes I'm not real, or at least I have that sensation, but the world seems pretty real.

Edit:  9 to 5?  I wish!  I'd kill for 9-5!  Who works that shift anymore?  It's all about the 7-7, the 12-10, the split shift, overnight, swing shift, five-on-five-off, three weeks out of the month...9-5 would be great if you look at the hours people work now.  And that was the labor movement who instituted work "weeks" rather than sweatshop hours and conditions.

  7. Not really.. my fantasylands have dragons..

  8. It is certainly a Matrix. We live an entirely different reality than those of the ruling class. The people pulling the strings from the Multinational Corporations. They have created 9 to 5, cheap labor, poverty, poor nutrition and other vices. We are confined in a reality and we have no hope.
