Does tipping at a coffee house annoy you?

I can't stand when I see a tipping cup at a Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks. They are just making my coffee. Isn't that what they get paid for. What is your opinion?

there getting paid minimum wage, so people feel bad and give them there extra change.

but, yes it is there job, so it is not necessary.

also, those tip jars are tacky and pretentious.  they should just keep tips in the cash drawer out of sight, when people give it to them.

If that really annoys you as much as you are saying then you need a cat scan or you really need to get a life.

First of all they are making the coffee, also putting your order together either coffee, pastry or ice cream. Then they have to deal with annoying customers or even worse mean customers. If you enjoy the coffee and the service tip .25 or .50

NO ONE IS ASKING FOR 1.00 4.00 or 5.00

Yes, It does annoy me. I only tip at true restaurants. Not other places that think they deserve a tip. It makes me not want to go out anymore because of that. What a waste. Yes, It is what they are getting paid for. And they should give good customer service not for tips but for return service.

Yes, the coffee is expensive enough, I can't afford to leave a dollar tip on top of that. If I get coins as change I might leave that, but usually I pay with the exact amount...

Actually I think its rude that you think that is is dumb for them to get a tip. They already don't get paid very much and they don't just make your coffee they deal with mean customers, ahem, and whats with wrong with you showing your appreciation for them doing their job.

If it annoys you, you should get your coffee elsewhere, such as a drive-through service. If you think they only make coffee you are mistaken.

There used to be a jar at this little shop where I went for some extra classes.  It had a little sign on it, saying "tipping is good karma".  I thought it was so cute, and so true, I always tip, even at the little place where all the servers are the owners and their kids.  Heck.  They need to make a living, too, and they are not earning that much, otherwise.  Even if everyone averages 50 c per cup of coffee, when they get done splitting it, they probably only make an extra $20/day.   That´s barely enough for lunch.

Yeah, I'm sorry but the coffee is expensive enough. Maybe if they paid the employees more instead of charging more for the coffee it would be a non-issue.
