I was obsessed with keeping myself fit so I would jog for like an hour and a half or sometimes even 2 hours every single day n then it was all good for the first week but then i kinda started noticing i couldn't sleep like ised to, i had no energy left in me to n my hair started falling out but people did compliment me on my body but my face didn't have that glow anymore n i looked pale n my period came like 20 days late. I might have been anorexic or close to it. But all that was like last year, but do you ever get carried away with working out? and is it a lot if you run for an hour every single day?

i know this question belongs in the diet n fitness section but I didn't wanna post it there cause I like it here and their answers are not thorough n nobody answers me there lol

  1. Too much exercise does NOT make your hair fall out and two hours a day is not excessive. You clearly have either a vitamin deficiency or else your hair can't tolerate the chlorine in the water (get a filter). Probably you are dieting excessively if your period is late. You need more protein.

My problem is that ever since I became muslim I feel embarrassed to leave my home alone, as a married woman, and as a result my physical shape has deteriorated significantly. I used to walk up to three hours a day. Now I leave my home only to go to the store or to the doctor.

  2. do as much exercise as you can!!

  3. I hope you take a Mahrem with you when out jogging alone.

Answer: No idea, people usually get healthier. Maybe your overdoing it.

    Or your diet is poor.

You came to the right section here Allah knows best.

  4. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Every religion has an innate character. The character of Islam is modesty."

    This applies in everything.

  5. It can't be bad for you unless you have serious health issues. People train for boxing everyday for hours a day, so an hour a day of running is most likely harmless, and more likely beneficial to you. .

  6. Just remember, too much of everything sucks. Keep everything in control and balance your diet and exercise and you'll be fit. I often too get carried away while working out, but i keep myself in control..
