Three to four hours everyday is starting to take its toll on me. Especially since I only drive 80 miles round trip.

  1. No.  I have a two mile commute.  Weather permitting I ride my bike rather than driving.

A long commute is a lifestyle choice.  Don't like the commute you can always change jobs or move.  Unwilling to change jobs or move?  Then you have to live with the downside.  I don't like commuting so I live close to my job.

  2. Only 80 miles huh? You must live in Texas! lol

For a week I had a 150 mile round trip commute to the corporate office. I took the roads that had the highest speed limits and least amount of traffic. My commute time was 1.5 hours each way. My regular commute is 60 miles round trip and is at least 1 hour long.

My suggestion to you is find another route, a new job, or move...in that order.

  3. Move, take a different job, ride a bus (if available), car pool...this is a free country.
