  1. Reality exists totally independently of our ability to see it.

It laughs at our perceptions and goes about its business.

Reality is to be sought...conjecture is generally useless.

  2. Truth lies in what is happening now. The only thing we know for a fact is now, this exact moment. We can't remember everything exactly. We can't remember what happened yesterday. We can, but our memories are flawed. Truth is not a concept. It's reality.

I don't know if that makes any sense. I'm taking a philosophy class and we just talked about this stuff a few days ago.

  3. both, truth can be applied to things that happened in the past.

  4. Personally, I admit, TRUTH does lie in both the fields when a TRUTH is a "real" truth.

  5. Whatever happened to inductive and deductive abilities of people?!?

  6. Well it depends. First of all truth is everything that is not transformed in any way. So what lies in our real-time perception is true. The memorized concepts exist - therefore they are true. But if we want to indicate the truth concepts we might be wrong. In this case the truth is rather a value of our concepts - concepts that may or may not reveal the truth. So we can talk of two different kinds of truth. The thing is that the truth really lies in our real-time perception, but it's possible that not only there...

  7. there is no truth only perception. ask schrodinger.

  8. Correct! truth lies in your real-time perception...

We develop some concepts and unknowingly memorize them in our sub-conscious mind with the sum of knowledge we would have had at that point of time... but everyday, in fact every minute our knowledge gets increased by some amount and its very important for us to use this increased amount of knowledge in our decision making... so open-mindedness towards everything is better than living with our old memorized concepts!!

  9. I have read that the Anastasi had no words in their language for "future" or "past". That is a concept that is almost impossible to fathom. Where as truth might live in the present I can not get my mind to slow down(or speed up, or remain the same) to the point that I can realize it.

meditation helps but, inevitably there is a time during meditation when "it is time to stop".

    good question though. thanks,

  10. No.  Perception isn't in "real time."  Perception is an editing tool for reality used by the mind because it is incapable of understanding the infinite reality as is.

"If the lens of perception where clear everything would appear as is, Infinite" - William Blake

Truth is not subject to the limitations of the mind.  It exist independently of   perception or belief. The clouds don't cause the sun to not shine.  Like gold waiting to be discovered, truth is reveal when what is obstructing it is removed.
