Does using mosturizing lotion affect a tan?

I have a nice tan right now and I don't want it to go away :( Everyday after I shower I will use lotion on my arms and legs. I was wondering if doing this would affect my tan in any way and if so how? Thanks!

dont use any lotion that has mineral oil in it, that will fade your tan...

Read the ingredients on the bottle and make sure its a oil free based lotion. If your tan has started fading and you want to get it back to how it originally was, buy a lotion without SPF in it. If you want your tan to not darken, buy a moisturizing lotion with SPF in it because it will protect your tan and not your skin such as sunscreen does.

lotion keeps the tan on, the tan goes away when there isnt sun anymore.
